Schools - 'After Schools Clubs'

Since starting our work with schools we have been asked by several schools to run after school clubs. These clubs take various forms, depending on the requirements of each individual school.

In one school (St Marychurch) we ran a club for 10 weeks, in this time the children worked on improving their strength, stamina and flexibility as well as gymnastics skills. On the last week the children invited their parents to watch a display of the skills they has learnt on floor, vault and bench.

Another school (Oldway) ran a club for 12 weeks, but as interest was so great they decided to offer 2 groups of year 2 children a 6 week course each so we could reach more children.

Each after-school club is coached by a qualified coach and a teacher stays to assist our coach and learn how to coach the skills etc. so that gymnastics can be taught with more confindence in normal curriculum time.
